Australia Private Schools introduces Kununurra District High School in Kununurra, for all your education and learning needs.
Kununurra District High School was established on its present site in 1964, after moving from the Kimberley Research Station, now the Frank Wise Institute. In 1964 there were 68 students enrolled in Years 1 to 7, with 4 teachers. The ‘High Rise’ buildings in the Primary School formed the extent of the original school.
Today, the school campus is a modern site stretching over 6 ha including the senior school, secondary, primary, pre-primary and kindergarten buildings. The senior school building is set aside for those students completing Years 11 and 12. In 2006 the Performing Arts and Secondary Learning Area building was completed.
The school is very well resourced with facilities including two Computer Laboratories, Performing Arts Centre, Design and Technology workshop, Home Economics Centre, Photography area, Media Centre, Music Room, Art facilities, Senior School Resource Area and a combined Community and School Library.
Welcome to Kununurra District High School one of the popular educators in your Kununurra area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
