Croft-Gilchrist School of Dancing is Townsville?s long established dance school for toddlers to adults. We have three studios dedicated to ballet, jazz, tap and Highland dancing tuition. Robyn?s passion for dance is infectious for both her teaching staff and her students. Everyone at the Croft-Gilchrist School of Dancing gains in confidence, co-ordination and fitness from the practice of dance. Many of our students have enjoyed careers from the skills developed at our school. Correct technique is an important part of learning dance. It can pave the way for formal qualification and recognition as a dancer. And it helps prevent injury. We have qualified tuition in correct techniques to examination standard ? RAD, ADA, SOBHD, VSD. Our Tiny Tots classes ? students from 3 years of age ? develop movement and co-ordination skills, music appreciation and ability to work with others. Our Ballet students are trained using the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. Our Modern, Jazz and Tap students are trained to the Australasian Dance Association (ADA) syllabus. Highland dancing is taught according to the Victorian Scottish Dancing Association (VSDA) and the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (SOBHD). ^ Less
