Urrbrae Agricultural High School is the only comprehensive special interest agricultural secondary school in South Australia. It is recognised as a centre of excellence in student learning with a focus on agriculture, technology and the environment. Established as an Agricultural High School in 1932, it has continued to educate South Australian secondary students in an agriculturally focussed curriculum to the present day. It is also recognised as a focus school in environmental education, landcare and technology. These subjects are integrated across the school curriculum. Alongside these specialist subjects, Urrbrae students study the normal range of secondary school subjects except languages other than English, or can choose from the specialised certificate courses at senior school level.

The school is situated just six kilometres from the centre of the Adelaide CBD and sits at the base of the Adelaide Hills. It is a complex school with extensive land holdings over 45 hectares. This includes a 30 hectare farm incorporating plant and animal husbandry, environmental land, pasture, horticulture and arboriculture paddocks and an extensive flood mitigation and wetlands education and land management project (Urrbrae Wetland Flood Mitigation Project), along with public access areas (large gym, swimming pool, tennis courts and generous playing field areas, football, track and field events enclosures).

Aquaculture production, grape and wine production, olive grove plantings and olive oil processing, orchards, glasshouse, horticulture, honey production, bee keeping facilities; horse, cattle, sheep, goat, emu and alpaca yards and stabling, holding areas and sheering shed, an intensive piggery incorporating an integrated waste management syste, a free-range poultry unit, layer and grower sheds and specimen poultry sheds; along with a native fauna and flora complex reflect many of the farm enterprises being run at the Urrbrae Education complex.
