Illawarra Christian School is a Christian School that caters for students on two Prep to Year 12 campuses. Cordeaux Campus nestled in against the escarpment at Cordeaux Heights and Tongarra Campus located amongst the dairy farms in Calderwood Valley both provide idyllic settings for our distinctively Christ-centred, Bible-based model of education.

Illawarra Christian School, as part of the Christian Education National movement (previously known as Christian Parent Controlled Schools) is a co-educational, non-denominational school providing a caring and comprehensive education for approximately 900 students by approximately 120 Christian educational and administrative staff. These staff are actively involved in the life of their local churches. The school was established in 1982 by a group of local Christian parents who had a vision for a nurturing, empowering school community, firmly rooted in biblical instruction. We at ICS see the school as an extension of the Christian home as we partner together in the education of the children and to provide opportunities for other families to experience this same sense of community and support. Our desire is bring everything under the Lordship of Christ from the employment of staff, to the writing of policies, discipline and the development of curriculum.

The school works in partnership with our parents and care givers to provide a safe, encouraging, welcoming Christian environment where students are given the opportunity to exercise their giftings and learn in a situation where they are loved and nurtured. Our qualified, dedicated and experienced staff all seek to bring out the best in their students and to prepare them for life beyond school, to be able to make a difference in whatever vocation or life choices that they make.

We have an outstanding track record of academic excellence and providing for the needs of the individual students with a range of academic abilities. We provide opportunities for students to excel in sporting and cultural pursuits while encouraging them to be mission minded in their outlook.

Illawarra Christian School values and encourages the participation of parents and care givers in the education of their children. There are many and varied opportunities for parents and care givers to be involved in the school. The number of volunteer helpers around the school has often been commented on by visitors to the school.
