Double Bay Public School is situated in an attractive harbourside location adjacent to Steyne Park which the school has traditionally utilised on a daily basis for educational, recreational and sporting activities.

The local community regards the school as a happy, industrious and productive educational institution. In addition to an excellent core curriculum there are specialist teachers for Italian, Physical Education and Library. Optional programs include Chess, Band, Swimming, Tennis, Computer and Dance.

The student body includes a diversity of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and the school features a Student Representative Council which provides a forum for children to raise issues, to comment on student needs and to raise funds throughout the year for a variety of charities. Parent involvement is highly valued. Parents are involved in classroom activities and in supporting students and teachers by assisting in the school's educational programs.

The school's caring environment is enhanced by an effective peer support program. The school community has developed our Mission Statement which is reviewed regularly and states "Double Bay Public School's mission is to provide an education which highlights equity and excellence, gives preparation for a changing world and which recognises the worth of each individual".
